China With No Plastic Bags

Not too long ago, my mom just came back from a trip to China. She said in China people carry bags around as shops do not supply plastics bags to carry stuff in it. But if you need a plastic bag, they would charge you for it.

Yesterday i went shopping with my family. I have many of these really nice reusable bags. I took them along with me. I was hoping that my family will not take home extra plastic bags from our shopping spree. I was wrong.

Water, Could Be Our Next Oil.

75% of the Earth surface is covered with water, only 3% of the water are not salt water, and we can only consume 1% of that water as the 2% is frozen ice and glaciers.

Imagine, how can that little water support the lives of humans on the earth? So it is not surprising that we have a problem. It is a today's problem, and it will be tomorrow's problem if we do not do anything. Water scarcity!

I am sure many of you feels that water scarcity has nothing to do with you. Water scarcity is the next generation's problem, so let them worry about it, don't bug me for their problems!

Norway's First Ecological Prison

I copied and paste this article because i find it very interesting!

The minimum-security Bastoey Prison, on a lush island south of Oslo, this week claimed to have achieved its 10-year goal of being the world's first ecological prison.

The prison, without locked gates or barbed wire, has often been compared to a summer camp, and now operates with solar panels, wood-fire heating instead of oil, strict recycling and ecological food production.

The idea is to help the roughly 115 prisoners learn important values, such as protecting the environment and respecting others, before they return to society.
